Praise Song of the Week--Identity by Kutless

Hello All!
And welcome to Praise Song of the Week! This is (one of) your hosts, Jenessa Joy! How're you all doing this week?? I don't know about you, but I'm kinda bummed about this whole school thing going on!! *sigh* Why do we have to be endlessly tortured by...oh...wait...sorry, you didn't come here to hear my endless rant about school...(If you want to hear THAT after the fact: click here.

Moving on...

I have never had a hard time finding my identity. But not everyone is like that. A lot of the time people feel without one. Lacking. This song this week is (not so ironically) called: "Identity."

This song comes from the (genius) band, Kutless.
This song comes from there newest album: "Believer". It talks about finding your Identity in Christ, and not being able to do things on yours/mine/there own.

I really enjoy this song, I think it has amazing meaning, powerful lyrics, strong background music. And all around it is an amazing worship song. I hope you enjoy listening to it as much as I do. :)
Lyrics:

"Identity"
"I’ve been looking from the outside, outside
I’ve been walking on a straight line, straight line
Scared to let the world see my failures, who I am, or who I’ve been

I’ve been waiting for somebody else to
Take the chance that I am so afraid to
I don’t know how to find myself am I the only one the only one

Oh I wanna feel You move me like a river running through me
I am so tired of trying to prove it I’m never gonna do it alone
God I need You to be my identity

It’s always easier to hide behind that
Camouflage that keeps our hearts so guarded
But there’s no shame when we surrender everything to You
Everything to You

I want to see the world change, see the system cave in
You pull our hearts from the ashes
The cry of the captive is rising"

Blessings, Smiles,
Prayer, and Music,
Love From,
Jenessa Joy <3
